" I still can't believe this... Melissa and I went to school together at Northwood, Garner, Mac, and UT - we went to Girl Scouts, drill team & dance lessons. She was a caring, kind, compassionate, sweet soul whom I will miss a lot. May God comfort you 'til you see her again."  Linda Gordon Wise

" After graduating with Melissa from MacArthur years ago, I was reaquainted with her while shopping for quilting fabric in Austin a few years ago. It took us a few moments to remember where we knew each other from, but then we had an instant connection with our mutual love of quilting. I'm so sorry to hear about Melissa's death." Diane Grafton

" I am having a hard time believing this news. My memories are of Melissa and her loving family. From Northwood Elementary through MacArthur High School we shared many years and activities together from dance lessons, birthday parties, and those fun Halloween and ice cream parties Mr. and Mrs. Grooms had for all the kiddos... and so much more! This has truly been a difficult year with both losses in one year's time. My heart and prayers go out to you. With heartfelt sympathy and love," Randa Bond Cheatle
