I spoke with Debbie not long before she passed away. Her kind nature never wavered. Her husband and three adult children were close by. She lives on in my heart.

Debbie has been one of my dearest friends since we met in high school. She was the kindest and most devoted wife, mother and friend. For all of us that knew her, she will live in our hearts forever.

I met Debbie on the gym bleachers at Garner Junior High School in eighth grade and I knew we would be immediate best friends. She was just like that. Kind, open, sensitive, and so sweet. She also was an incredible artist and crafts person. I still have so many beautiful notes and crafts she made me over the years. I will truly miss her more than words can express.

I knew Debbie as part of the infamous CrisLeeEckLets. All of these women were spectacular people. I think Debbie was one of the kindest, gentle souls I've had the pleasure to spend some time with.(46 years ago).

I know we will all miss you Debbie and we'll see you soon.

I will never forget how much Debbie Lee's and the ineffable ChrisLeeEckLitts’ warmth and friendship meant to me when I moved to Texas in the middle of my Junior year.  Like everyone else, I am awash in memories of her kindness, gentleness and simple goodness.  Such good memories.  Betty, Susie and Deb, I am so sorry for your loss.

Debbie was such a sweet and gentle soul.  We worked one summer together after graduation as cooks for a YMCA Camp. She had such a lovely spirit and we laughed every day at the absurd notion that we were put in charge of planning the menus and cooking for 250 campers.  Love all the CrisLeeEckLits and I grieve with you.

Everyone remembers Debbie's sweet nature and great sense of humor! I remember Debbie & I were self conscious as the only Unitarians at Garner; we stayed close through that bond! She will be missed.....stay safe, everyone!
